Let’s Review HP Color 1500L Printer For The Print Tasks

The HP Color LaserJet 1500l printer using Color LaserJet 1500L toner is a true budget-priced laser jet printer that can make for an ideal candidate for any business that needs a good printer at a bargain price. It has nice print speeds and the quality of the printed product is also very good. It’s meant for true workgroup duties, by the way, and it has easy-to-implement connectivity processes, which makes it even more of an attractive candidate.

As far as what Hewlett-Packard says the print speed is, it will print out nicely enough in monochrome to attract the attention of most any small business person looking for a low-cost, yet relatively quick printer from Hewlett-Packard. At 16 pages of print per minute, in monochrome, that’s more than enough to overcome the fact that it only prints at four pages per minute in color. It would seem that black and white is the intended use.

It will be easy enough to hook the Hewlett-Packard into an existing or planned workgroup via its USB connection capability. There isn’t any other way to join it to a network or a single computer and Hewlett-Packard doesn’t include the USB cable with the printer, so make sure to grab one before checking out at the store. There’s no need to hire an IT specialist to connect it, because it is fairly intuitive, so keep that in mind.

The quality of the printed page that will emerge from the 1500l is fairly bread-and-butter for Hewlett-Packard, meaning that 600 dots per inch is what will be delivered. As far as most business needs, this is more than acceptable and the quality of the page will be uniformly nice across the board. HP includes one of its image enhancement technology programs to ensure that it stays that way no matter the print job using the HP laser toners.

Supplied memory with the 1500l is fairly typical for this price point and segment of the market at about 16 MB, with no way of upgrading it. For most any workgroup that this kind of printer is meant for, that’s really not too much of a concern. A 150 MHz processor that will keep all print tasks organized, prioritized and produced in acceptable time handles print duties.

The printer can print out on a wide variety of media types, including envelopes and transparencies and plain paper. It holds about 125 sheets of paper, so keep that in mind if the aim is to find a high paper storage printer. The maximum number of media types that can be stored can be as much as 375 pages in total, though it’s more likely that the 125-page capacity will be standard operating procedure.

When it comes to the durability and reliability of the 1500l, it’s fairly standard for a printer at this price range. Monthly duty cycle comes in at a robust 30,000 pages, meaning that it can print out that number of pages in a month before requiring any sort of maintenance. This is a true laser printer, meaning it will need four separate print cartridges, which is nothing out of the ordinary. It runs on most Windows and Mac OS platforms, too.

All in all, there seems to be much to like about the HP Color LaserJet 1500l printer. It certainly will work well enough for most small business workgroups that don’t need a printer with the capability to handle huge print files and it can also be found for less than $150 from retail online stores, which is actually an exceptional price for a real network printer. It also prints at about 16 pages per minute, though color is only at four pages per minute. When you are in need of cartridge and toner, search for HP toners online.  Just make sure to purchase HP Color LaserJet 1500L bulk toner so it will match your printer.
