• You must also consider saving paper. Less paper used would mean fewer trees being cut. You can pracrice this by selecting small and black and white prints. A colored print will not only use a more expensive ink but also consume relatively more energy. Proofread your document to avoid errors and use both sides of paper in the document that is not your final document.
• Never dump your PC’s! Recycle them instead. Computers contain toxic chemicals which can seep into the ground to mix with the ground water and may result in health risks.
• Many people also are not in the practice of shutting down their PC’s. You must not leave it running while you go and buy a drink from the store! Turn down your computer so that the complete power consumption of your computer is minimized. However, you must not keep on switching it on and off. Turning down your computer and switching it on repeatedly will consume more energy. If you are unsure about how when will you return, it is advisable to just switch the monitor off.
• Lastly, you should unplug the computer when not in use. Even though your computer might be switched off, if it is still plugged in so it will be using a particular amount of energy. Even though it is hard to adapt, but the practice will conserve a lot of energy as you make your computers eco-friendly.
