Hewlett-Packard’s P-1505 – A Space-Saving Printer With More Power
The HP LaserJet P1505 Printer is a fast-performing monochrome laser printer. It’s suitable for installation at home or in an office where it can be used in a network of as many as 5 computers. It also boasts of the new spherically shaped HP LaserJet P1505 toner cartridge. There may be not much need for expansion here because it’s fast and reliable enough as it is. This is because of the specifications and print technologies Hewlett Packard has produced in this machine.
A fast 266MHz processor lies inside it which is capable of yielding up to 24 monochrome pages every minute. Its compact desktop form measures 8.9 inches x 9.6 inches x 14.9 inches (H x D x W) and tips the scale at only 13 pounds. Based on these figures, it can easily be placed on the desktop or moved around the office where it’s needed. It comes in white and with clean lines that can easily match the rest of the workplace.
The Instant-On technology of the P1505 ensures that you can finish the task at hand quickly. That’s because it only takes as little as 6.5 seconds for the unit to eject the first printout. Comparing this with other black-and-white laser printers these days, that’s veru faster. In a busy office where there’s large volume output needed, the speed at which the first page is churned out is just as important as the rate of pages printed per minute.
Combined input media handling capacity is at 260 sheets, thanks to the couple of media feeders available. As many as 10 sheets are handled by the priority input tray. As the name suggests, it’s where the printer looks first for each task. Then there’s also the main input tray which is capable of holding up to 250 sheets. This one is adjustable, to accommodate multiple media dimensions.
When it comes to media sizes, this monochrome laser type of printer is compatible to work on an assortment of them. Without slowing down the printer’s performance, it’s possible to have crisp text, sharp lines and photorealistic grayscale images.
There’s a 2MB RAM (fixed) installed upon purchase. Also included are 26 scalable fonts and a PCL 5e printer language support. The hi-speed USB 2.0 port and integrated networking connection make it easy to use the unit on a single computer or a workgroup with a max of 5 computers. The patented spherical toner cartridge can yield up to 2000 pages, and the duty cycle is set at 8000 pages per month.
The P1505 also comes with the HP Easy Printer Care software. This makes it easier to set up the unit, receive low HP compatible toners alerts, and generate usage reports.
