Desktop Defender 2010

Desktop Defender 2010 is known as a rogue security client that provides no real benefit and shows false and exagerated scan results in an effort to scam users out of their money. Once the fake client has run it’s scan it will then ask you to purchase the program to remove the threats shown. This program looks and feel very professional. The purpose of this is to make it more credible. It is very common for programs like this to disable the Windows Task Manager and other similar programs. You will find your you do not have your computer control anymore.

The following are a few tricks many of these hackers are using to pitch fake security software. They will claim to be new, free and more. In my testing of this threat we also had our browser settings highjacked and were getting re-directs to the sales page of this program.

You should first, rather than believing this fake program, remove Desktop Defender 2010 . To remove such malware you will need to first terminate the running process called DesktopDefender2010.exe.
