The latest model for the business range to be created by Samsung is a great printer. The Samsung CLP 500 has all the terrific features of the big printers, without the big price tag. The current price is around $249. It is nice to look at and works great for most any office.  The Samsung CLP 500 toner produces professional prints on nearly all media.

Speed is a great selling point. It has been improved from previous models. The black and white printing speed is set at 21 pages a minute, while color will take 5 pages per minute. Starting time, like most printers, is a little slow, taking a few minutes to warm up and be ready for action. This is not really a disadvantage if you can remember to switch it on a couple of minutes before you use it.

With this machine you can print your own professional looking booklets for a fraction of the price at the printers. Just be careful you familiarize yourself with the printing process in this setting. The printer has a strange way of spitting out the page and pulling it back to turn it round internally. Just leave it alone, if you do not want to find yourself fighting tug-of-war with your printer.

Technology-adverse users will love this easy to use printer. A built in LCD window with printer menus and options comes standard, which makes printing all that much easier. Compatibility with PC and Mac is not an issue, a nice extra for offices that use both operating systems.

It is quiet for a laser printer, but if you are a Mercedes and Audi-type owner who was willing to pay for near-complete silence when drive, you might want to invest a little more in a different machine. However, with normal business noises what they are, you shouldn’t be bothered at all by the 48 decibels of noise it creates.

The printer is easy to open and changing cartridges is not at all complicated. As usual with new printers, the complimentary toner will not print more than 1,500 pages, so you might want to buy one soon and have it on hand.

Image quality is set at 1,200 pixels per inch, which is higher quality than you will ever need in an office printer. RAM memory is not overly impressive at sixty five megabytes of RAM, but you are not likely to need more.

The Samsung CLP 500 printer is a good buy for your small to large business that wants high quality at the great price of $249.  It meets the needs of most small to moderate offices and makes an exceptional personal printer, especially when doing photographs.
