Is there a special occasion in your future for someone who loves sports? Let their passion for the game guide your gift giving decisions. There are numerous gift options for people of all ages who are sports fans Best of all, the gift options come in varying price ranges and can be easy to find, or rare collectibles for which gift givers must search. You can add to an existing collection or get them a brand new collectible they can keep and display in a special place. You can choose a team specific gift or something that is representative of the game in general. The important thing is to make sure you are not unnecessarily duplicating an item they already own, and to make sure you have chosen the appropriate sport and sport’s team. Think about their geographical location, their personal preference for various teams, and the games you know they love attending. If you know nothing about these things, it never hurts to ask who their favorite team is or which sport is their favorite. Once you have narrowed down the gift options, shop away for example, you can choose from generic gifts like baseball cards or the famous maker Topps baseball cards.

You can also buy something that represents a sports star. Consider putting together a collection of items that represent the person’s favorite sports star, this way you can include a variety of memorabilia in one gift.

Another thing to consider is team apparel. It used to be you could only pick up a shirt or hat with a team’s logo if you attended a game. Nowadays, team apparel is everywhere. You can find local favorites in department stores or you can go online and get just about every article of clothing available in the appropriate team colors. If you are bargain hunting, rummage sales are great for team apparel. Some apparel is pricey, like jerseys and outerwear, so if you find something that is gently used at a rummage sale, you can often get a spectacular bargain.

Many sports teams and leagues also have an official catalog with licensed apparel. If you have an upcoming gift occasion, order a catalog in time to shop. In addition to clothing, the catalogs feature items like home goods and tailgating necessities.

A final option is to shop for autographed merchandise. This can be expensive to secure, or it can be completely free. If you are attending a game prior to your gift giving occasion, bring along a ball or program and see if the sports star will autograph it. Memorabilia shows are another great place to get autographs and sometimes only cost the entry fee to the show. Another option is to purchase the autographed item in a store. Be sure the item comes with a certificate of authenticity to be sure it is really the autograph of your chosen star.
