We all prefer to see our environment filled with colorful things and the best way to achieve this is to have some wonderful fresh foliage or something similar growing in pots. But there is some work to be done keeping them in good order and living as well. For anyone who just kills anything with kindness, perhaps a different way out to have artificial flowers dotted here and then for just such a reason. But silk plants have really leapt forward in style and design these days and most people will surely overlook the fact that they are not living things.

Of course, these blooms look great set into some lovely vase or container, and all that is needed to keep them pristine is a flick of a duster every now and then. But some people are actually using them instead of real blooms to make up traditional bouquets at weddings etc. Because they tend to be a little exotic in nature, the bouquet can look totally different to all the other arrangements on offer and this is what many brides go for. Even flower girls and the attendants can be given something colorful to carry, but without having to be careful that they do not drop them. After the event, they can even be kept as a remembrance of the big day or split apart to be used as a decorative addition to books and frames surrounding the wedding itself. Indeed, sticking parts of the bouquet onto photo albums is also a neat way to remember all the colors of the day for the future when the children come along.

But perhaps one of the best places to use these natural looking blooms and greenery is in offices where no one is available to look after real blooms. Because everyone is busy, or because no one wants to take the responsibility, fresh blooms often end up being the victim of over zealous amateurs which soon makes them wilt and die. Nothing looks worse in a public area than brown and rotting leaves which makes the place look dirty.

It is better to get some kind of statement feature, some several feet tall, to decorate the area which even cleaning staff can cater to as they go about their daily duties. Although it is obvious, when touched, that these are faux blooms, some people have been fooled into watering them without noticing something wrong!

For the craft specialist, these blooms really allow them to add some wonderful touches to all manner of things that they produce. Tiny sprigs of colored foliage and blooms can be adhered to one or two corners of a photo frame for a personal touch. Some of these frames do not have to be expensive either, but once they have been decorated, they really take on a chic look that most people admire. This is a great way to finish off a birthday or Christmas gift too and shows the recipient that the giver went out of their way to add something special to their gift.
