Offer up your time as a trade for the pieces you love–this is the best way to get handmade jewelry without spending a cent. You can offer to help designers with their websites. If you have your own store, you can sell some pieces for them in exchange for them making you a piece or two of your own. This can be a little bit tricky so make sure that you tell the artist up front that you are hoping to trade for their work (especially when you do not have the money to buy the work outright). Some artists will allow you to purchase the piece through a payment plan if they don’t need your services. Once in a while the artist will be very kind and just let you have the piece for free.

Hand crafted jewelry is a great addition to any accessory box or ensemble. There are a lot of reasons to purchase hand crafted jewelry. This form of jewelry is often less expensive than the jewelry available in your local jewelry shops. It is unique (where as mass produced pieces most certainly are not). It is also uncommon.

A likeable reason for having handmade pieces of jewelry is you will have something unlike anyone else – without having to pay the top dollar that comes from buying jewelry that has been specifically commissioned.
