Warhammer is an especially popular game, which centres around making and painting your own armies of figures, and then battling them against other people at home or at the many competitions and games night which are held on a frequent basis throughout the country. Due to the nature of the game, Warhammer for some people is huge part of their lives, with people committing hours and hours to constructing and painting their figures ready for games. This means that there is often a great deal of potential here for several Careers which revolve around the game, specifically when it comes to painting the figures. I am going to discuss here the potential for people who have the talent to start a New career as a painter for Warhammer, and the several options you have existing to you for making money. As far as New careers go this really is only going to be appropriate for people who already have a big interest either in Warhammer or painting the figures – if you are hunting for a New career path to follow and are just hunting for some ideas I suggest looking into the game of Warhammer itself first of all.

Now if you are looking at New careers which will allow you to paint Warhammer figures to earn a living, you will of course have to be very good at it. Now there are severalvariations you can do on this distinct style of career, and the good thing about it is you can usually dictate how much work you undertake. Some people just like doing this work part time, as an addition to another job they already have going, whereas some could wish to take it on full time. Much of the money making work comes from charging people to paint their own armies for them, so they can obtaina professional look for their armies which they may not be able to achieve by themselves. Some of the work can be quite time consuming, so you can charge rather a lot, if you can live up to the quality you are charging for! The figures themselves are quite small, so a very steady hand is required to be able to obtain the highest levels of details from the figures. Another option people follow is to paint figures and dioramas to fantasic standards, and enter them into competitions to win money. This is the most taxing one to do as a full time job, as of course it is very competitive, and you are not assured of any income. For this reason people either do this whilst they keep up other Careers, or augment with painting other peoples armies as commission work. Doing it this way is an extremely popular choice, as it gives you the best of both worlds – you are able to spend a great deal of time working on your technique, and you are earning a wage whilst doing it.

So as you can see it is viable to get a fulltime job as a painter for Warhammer. It is pretty taxing, and you really need to be extremely keen on this subject, but if you are it can be a very rewarding career path for you to go down.
