Are you looking for methods to maintain your home vegetable garden. Well you don’t have to worry anymore cause here you will see how to take good care of your garden. Few of the methods are row gardening traditional way, square foot gardening, layered gardening and no-till gardening. These kind of gardening are only successful once you learn your situation. The beginner needs to take time to look for the best gardening method for his required needs. It may sound difficult, however for beginners growing vegetables don’t have to be that complicated. Each time is going to be much less troublesome.

The vegetable planting methods discussed below can be utilized in combination or one could also use a single method for all your vegetables. These have been used since the beginning of time. If you are a beginner and are wondering how to start your vegetable garden, read the below mentioned gardening tips and follow them to effectively grow vegetables inside your backyard.

Hopefully you will get use from these tips just like the countless others have. The trick is to avoid deviating from the basics of vegetable planting. Knowing what vegetables you would like to grow might help with choosing the type of gardening method which meets your requirements. We will discuss the methods below.

Single Row Gardening – Using these method, seeds are sowed in starting rows which may have equal space in between two seeds for the plants to grow well and spread their branches. The distance between two seeds is basically measured or based on the exact size of the mature vegetable plant. Plants that grow bigger need more space versus plants that grow small in size. A perfect example to keep in mind is corn is planted far away from tomatoes.

Wide Row Planting – I Would recommend this method if your are planting things that don’t need a lot of room. They can grow even when closely packed and hence wide row planting is done. The seeds that are sowed in this style of planting are basically tiny in size. Few examples of such seeds are spinach, carrots, lettuce, radishes etc. Planting wide rows of lettuce will ensure the single rows becoming a wide row, eventually because of the wind.

Hill Planting – This is the preferred method of planting melons. Its is best to start with a 20 inch by 5 inch high mound in this planting. Then at around five equal distances, holes are poked on top of the hill. You only need to place a single seed in each mound. Once you start to see growth you need to pull out all the plants but the two that you think are growing better than the other ones. The hill planting system makes it easier for people to dress the plants with compost and manure.

Hopefully my gardening tips will help you become a master gardener. Good luck and hopefully you develop that green thumb.
