90 Ball Bingo

One of the most common UK based versions of bingo is 90 ball bingo. Not only is it the game that all online bingo sites push the hardest, it’s also played in all of the land based bingo halls.

There are 3 rows of 9 squares (27 in total) on a 90 ball bingo card. In each row there are 4 blank squares and 5 numbers meaning that there are 15 numbers per card.

It’s worth pointing out that the numbers aren’t just in some random order. It starts with having the 10’s in the first column, then all the 20’s in the one next to it. This goes on until the last row, this will be all the 80’s.

Therefore, you will be able to find your numbers quickly if you are playing in a real life bingo hall. Normally when you buy your cards you buy them in what’s called “strips”. Each strip usually has 6 cards, meaning each time a number is called, you will always get one of the 90.

Your chances of winning at 90 ball bingo depend on how many tickets you buy and how many tickets the people you’re playing against buy. Most online bingo sites have a limit of 48 cards in a 90 ball game and it’s a similar case in a bingo hall.

You will obviously not have much of a chance if you are up against a lot of players in a game who have bought a lot of cards when you have only bought one. I reckon that when you are playing bingo online, buy lots of cards then go for a game that has only a few players in to make the best of your chances.

It can be very awkward for people who have to shout ‘bingo’ out loud when they win in a bingo hall. Everyone else tends to look round and stare.

This is something you don’t need to worry about online because it’s operated by software. Once you get a win, the game is automatically stops and you can then go and collect your winnings. This is one of the biggest plus point of online play.
