Camping Tips For The Beginner
I have always loved camping. However, most of my initial trips were spent fixing problems that were overlooked. I did not really spend a lot of time planning because, just like other beginners, I wanted to rush straight to the good parts. I discovered that more time and effort was actually spent trying to improve the mistakes and errors instead of having a great time. You can make a few minor changes to make camping much more enjoyable and comfortable for everyone involved.
Preparation Period
Camping will be a whole lot more convenient and more secure if you spend about a week or several minutes each day planning the trip. I began asking myself questions like “Where do I plan to go?”, “How many people are coming?” and “How long do we intend to stay?”. Checking my engraved business card holders, I found a few reliable people who can adequately step up to the tasks I needed done to make a better trip such as the auto mechanic and camp resort supervisor.
It is very important that you bring the necessary tools that will keep you safe and sane for the duration of the trip. Some of the items to pack include engraved swiss army knives, which can function for almost anything like cooking, tracking and setting up camp. You should also bring enough food and water placed in engravable flasks. Get a map of the location before going to the area personally so you can start planning the perfect spots to set up your tent, go for clean water and stay safe from wild animals.
During the Trip
I am the type of person who’s overly sensitive to creepy crawlies physically and mentally. I remember spending a day at the hospital because of allergies to a certain type of mosquito bite. I got to talk to an expert on the little creatures who gave me a few pointers. I now check the ground first before pitching the tent, making sure that there are no burrows or nests anywhere near. My clothes and shoes also had to be packed in plastic or put inside the tent since these can become potential temporary homes for spiders and other critters.
There are mosquito coils and repellent sprays as well that are significantly useful against a variety of insects. Food should be disposed in the best areas. I use an engraved business card holders to dig and bury any biodegradable waste. Wearing gloves and keeping food in tightly closed containers also helped a lot making all the creepy crawlies disappear.
When Bringing Kids
A camping trip is the best opportunity for you to teach your kids about the beauty of nature, as well as introduce them to the joys of independence. I find it very useful to get a huge tent, measuring at least 12 feet long and 8 feet high. Two-room tents are very ideal, wherein you can set one side as a sleeping area where food and dirt are not allowed to come in. Include forms of entertainment and activities for kids when planning for the camping trip. You’ll find that everything becomes more enjoyable for the entire family.
